Recent engagements include Figaro in Paisiello’s Barber of Seville with Onsite Opera; Dr. Dulcamara in The Elixir of Love, Sharpless in Madama Butterfly, and Dandini in La Cenerentola with Minnesota Opera; Emperor Overall in The Emperor of Atlantis with Boston Lyric Opera and Chicago Opera Theater; La Rocca in Verdi’s King For a Day (Un giorno di regno) with Glimmerglass Opera; Mr. Gedge in Albert Herring with Florentine Opera; Guglielmo in Così fan tutte with Intermountain Opera Bozeman; and Carmina Burana with the Minnesota Orchestra, under the baton of Osmo Vänksä.

A lover of cabaret and musical comedy, Wilkowske’s performance in Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris was called “chilling” and “deeply moving” by the St. Paul Pioneer Press, and his performance in the world premiere of Sleeping Beauty with the Ensemble Theatre of Cincinnati earned him a nomination for a Cincinnati Entertainment Award.

Soprano Madison Leonard is a native of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and recently graduated with her Master’s of Music degree from Northwestern, where she appeared as Susanna/Le nozze di Figaro, Geraldine/Hand of Bridge, Ginevra/Ariodante, Kitty Hart/Dead Man Walking, and Madame Herz/The Impresario. At the Merola Opera Program in San Francisco, Leonard performed Monica/The Medium and Gretel/Hänsel und Gretel, which was praised as “the best vocal performance of the entire evening” (Mark Rudio, A Beast in a Jungle). Madison’s recent successes in competitions include the first place award at HGO’s Eleanor McCollum competition for young singers and finalist at the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions for the central region. Last month, she covered Nannetta/Falstaff as an Apprentice Artist at Des Moines Metro Opera and looks forward to singing Adele/Die Fledermaus with Opera Idaho his fall.

American tenor Victor Ryan Robertson offers a versatile singing ability and style allowing him to cross seamlessly across genres. His recent critically acclaimed success with Carly Simon in the role of “Zoogie” for her debut opera Romulus Hunt has gathered much attention. The album Romulus Hunt is set for early fall release 2015. Last season Victor starred in the World premiere of multiple grammy-award winning trumpeter and composer Terrence Blanchard’s Champion, creating the role of Benny “Kid” Peret in a landmark production with Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and earning rave reviews. He will reprise the role of Benny with Opera Parallele in San Francisco February 2016 and Kennedy Center (Washington National Opera) January 2017. A recording is set for 2017. He recently enjoyed a successful run as Nadir in Pearl Fisherswith Dayton Opera. “Victor as Nadir, has an aria, really a scene in which he completely captivated the audience. Karen Hunt is thrilled to be back performing with Opera Coeur d’Alene. Recent appearances with the company include Little Red in their Opera Outreach program of Little Red Riding Hood, and as the Third Child Spirit in last fall’s Die Zauberflöte. Other credits include the title role in Massenet’s Cendrillon and Drusilla in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea both with the Opera Theatre at the University of Idaho, where she is going into her senior year. Other training includes her participation last summer  in the Opera Viva! program in Verona, Italy, where she studied with professors and professionals esteemed worldwide. She would like to thank her family and her teachers at the University of Idaho for their endless support and encouragement, and Aaron for this incredible opportunity to sing for all of you.

Ms. Kowalski-Holien is a native of Germany, where she graduated with a Masters in Music and Drama from the Hochschule für Musik und Kunst in Frankfurt am Main. She appeared in productions by the Frankfurt Opera Studio in “Turn of the screw” and Parascha in Stravinsky’s “Mavra”, performed the role of Vespetta in “Pimpinone” at the Sommer-Stadttheater Schiffenberg and was the Sand –and Taumann in “Haensel und Gretel” in a production of the Orchester Gesellschaft Frankfurt
Recent engagements: “Isolde’s Liebestod” with the Olympia Symphony, Rosalinde in “Die Fledermaus” with Skagit Opera and the lead role of Semele in collaboration with Maestro Stephen Stubbs, Pacific Music Works and the UW at Meany Hall in Seattle. Ms. Kowalski-Holien is a 2nd year doctoral student at the University of Washington.

Mezzo-Soprano Ann Benson began her musical career as a cellist, garnering awards
and accolades at a national level. As an actor and director she has worked at Center
Stage, Interplayers, Spokane Civic Theatre, Lake City Playhouse and Coeur d’Alene
Summer Theatre. A choir and drama teacher for 8 years in the public schools, Ms.
Benson currently serves as Director of Children’s Arts at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church
in Spokane .A regular on stage with Spokane Opera, past roles include Dorothée
in Cendrillon, The Aunt in Madama Butterfly, and chorus in Die Fledermaus and
Sweeney Todd. She has also appeared as a soloist with the Cathedral and the Arts
Series, the Northwest Bach Festival, and with the Spokane Symphony as winner of
the MusicFest Northwest Young Artist Competition.

American tenor Christopher Pfund has performed to critical acclaim with countless major orchestras and oratorio festivals throughout North America including the Cleveland Orchestra, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Houston Symphony, the Detroit Symphony, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Bach Festival Society of Winter Park, New York Oratorio Society and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s.  International engagements have included performances in the Czech Republic, Germany, Mexico and Brazil.  Critics have praised his “rounded vocal beauty” and The New York Times called his voice an “attractive tenor [that] helps define a sympathetic character.”

Brandon Michael has been performing in professional and community theaters on both coasts for over twenty years. Brandon and his family recently relocated to North Idaho after living in Fairbanks Alaska. Brandon has performed with Opera Fairbanks, UAF opera, and was recently a soloist with the chuck Israels jazz band and Northwest Sacred chorale. Brandon was recently played the padre in the Modern Theater production of Man of La Mancha and Dr Neville in CYT’s Secret Garden Fundraiser
